Funding from the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) will help a Northland-based timber processing company to boost production.

The $800,000 loan will enable Waipapa Pine to double wood pellet processing capacity from 4,800 tonnes a year to 9,600 tonnes a year.

Nine project contractors will be employed during the construction phase and four permanent jobs will be created from February next year.

The investment will also support existing jobs in the business.
