Calibre Partners, the Crown-appointed receivers for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts (RAL), is seeking expressions of interest in acquiring the business and assets of the Whakapapa ski field.

This follows the receivers’ recent sale of RAL’s Tūroa assets to Pure Tūroa Ltd.

Head of Kānoa Robert Pigou says that interested parties should make early contact with key stakeholders to discuss intentions, in tandem with any EOI submission.

“We’re pleased the sale of Tūroa assets has taken place in time for the 2024 ski season.

“We would encourage parties interested in purchasing RAL’s Whakapapa assets to engage early with iwi, hapū, and Sky Waka bondholders. This engagement will be critical for the success of any proposal”, says Mr Pigou.

This follows the Government's agreement in March of this year to provide to provide $7 million for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts to operate this season until an acceptable commercially led solution can be found within the next year for the Whakapapa side of Mt Ruapehu.
