The Māori Trades and Training Fund, He Poutama Rangatahi and the Regional Apprenticeships Initiative are still accepting expressions of interest. 

Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) applications almost allocated

Most of the government's $3 billion Provincial Growth Fund has now been fully allocated. What remains of the funding will be used to invest in key areas as part of the Government's COVID-19 response. As a result, it's unlikely that any outstanding or new applications will be progressed at this time.

Regional Apprenticeships Initiative

Employers intending to take on fewer than 10 apprentices under the Regional Apprenticeships Initiative, should email and include:

  • company name
  • region and sector of operation
  • number of apprentices you are considering taking on
  • contact details. 

Applications to the Regional Apprenticeships Initiative from smaller employers will be managed through third party providers and we are finalising the details of this process. We will be in touch once we have more information.

What happens next?

Once you've submitted your expression of interest, one of our team will contact you to discuss your proposal.

If the proposal looks like something we can fund, it will move through the decision making process.

If your proposal is approved for funding, we will contact you with the next steps.

If your proposal is declined, you will be advised in writing of the reasons for the decline. Please note that we are unable to discuss feedback in detail for declined applications.
