How to submit an expression of interest – Gas Security Fund

What you need and how to submit an expression of interest to the Gas Security Fund.

What you need

Here’s a checklist of what you will need to submit to complete your expression of interest (EOI):

copies of consents
project budget
full project Gantt chart
financial statements for the last three years (including cashflow, balance sheet, profit and loss)
qualified accountant-produced profit and loss, cashflow and balance sheet forecasts, for the last 10 years.

Additional documents where available:

trust deed (if applicable)
feasibility study
business case
cost benefit analysis
information memorandum (if used for capital raising)
risk management plan
economic impact assessment
cultural impact assessment
environmental impact assessment
letters of support
governance structure.

If your project is successful through the EOI process, you may be asked for additional information. Kānoa will tell you what else will need to be submitted.

How to submit your expression of interest

To access the Gas Security Fund expression of interest (EOI) form on Business Connect, you will need to either create a RealMe account or use your existing RealMe account.
Once you have logged into Business Connect with your RealMe account, you will be prompted to create an account with Business Connect.
After completing your Business Connect account setup, you will find the ‘Gas Security Fund’ EOI tile on the dashboard under ‘Available services’.
Complete the Gas Security Fund EOI form and upload any necessary supporting documents.
When complete, click on the ‘Review’ button to proceed.
Review your answers then submit your EOI.
You will receive an email confirming the EOI has been submitted, and information on next steps.
Your completed Gas Security Fund EOI can then be found in the ‘In-progress’ tab under ‘My applications’.

How to register for RealMe and use Business Connect

Creating a RealMe account

When you open Business Connect, you will be prompted to log in.

Business Connect

If you already have a RealMe account, you can login using your RealMe details on the left side of the screen.

If you do not have a RealMe account, you will need to create a RealMe login, using the option on the right side. Complete the details as prompted.

Once you have your RealMe account set up, or have logged in with RealMe, you will be prompted to create a Business Connect account.

Once you have your Business Connect login details, you can log into Business Connect.

Completing an application

Finding the required application

Once you have successfully logged into Business Connect, look for the Business Admin tile ‘Gas Security Fund – Expressions of interest for funding’. This will take you to the next step.

Navigating the application

Once you have clicked on the Gas Security Fund EOI form, you will need to take your time answering the questions. Progress through each page until you reach the bottom.

You will be able to navigate the application form here with the available button detailed below.

Start/Continue/Next – allows you to progress to the next page of the application.
Back – allows you to return to the previous page of the application.
Cancel – cancel the current progress of your application and return you to the Dashboard.
Save – allows you to save your progress and return at another time to complete.

Submitting an application

Once you have answered all the questions in the EOI and have reached the last page, click on the "Review" button to proceed.

This will take you to a page where you can review the questions and all the answers you have provided. If you need to amend any of your answers, you can use the back button to navigate to the page required.

Once you have reviewed your answers, you will then be able to submit your EOI. You will receive an email confirming it has been submitted and with information on next steps.

Your completed Gas Security Fund EOI can then be found in the "Submitted" tab under "My applications".
