Bay of Plenty

The Bay of Plenty region is home to a number of thriving industries, including horticulture, forestry, agriculture, freight, energy, and tourism.

The region covers the wider Bay of Plenty, Taupō, Rotorua, and Western and Eastern Bay of Plenty. Its climate, amenities, and easy access to the Waikato and Auckland make the Bay of Plenty an attractive place to live—it's no wonder its population is on the rise.

Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Growth Programme includes nine main action plans to boost the BOP's economy. The plans were refreshed in 2017, with a review of the Action Plan and the Bay of Connections Growth Strategy due to take place in late 2018.
